Just before Christmas, members of our Dallas team took their vocal “talents” to The Traymore at Park Cities, a local nursing home that specializes in post-operative rehabilitation and long term care. The team sang Christmas carols, delivered handwritten cards to the residents, and brought a haul of blankets, socks, housecoats, board games, and beauty and hygiene products to make the holidays a little brighter.

First in Service.
As one of Alpha Testing’s core values, First in Service serves as a guide to achieving our mission: to embrace and solve client challenges in geotechnical, construction materials, and environmental engineering. The recipients of the 2018 Founder’s Awards embody this Alpha core value, and exemplify Alpha’s mission.
Congratulations to John Moreland (Dallas), Tim Begole, Sr. (Fort Worth), Dustin Serrano (Houston), and Steven Brucks (San Antonio), and thank you for being examples of how to serve clients “The Alpha Way!”
This recommendation comes from Alpha’s Hannah McAdams, a Cypress, TX native. Located in Hannah’s hometown, Hanan’s Café features a “chalkboard menu” meaning the options change daily. They use local ingredients to make healthy yet delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Pair the banana French toast tower with a classic Americano or a Honey Bun Latte. The eggs benedict is amazing too!

Alpha Testing’s Dallas office collected food for the North Texas Food Bank as part of their Thanksgiving celebrations this year. The items donated will feed over 120 families in our north Texas community. Thank you to all who donated, and to Karen Rodriguez, SHRM-CP for organizing the food drive!

The week after Thanksgiving usually entails eating the same thing over and over until you are tired of turkey. We found a few tasty recipes that use your leftovers to spice up brunch or dinner.
Stuffing Waffles, Turkey Frittatas, or Eggs Benedict with Stuffing Cakes will be perfect fuel before you go Black Friday shopping. For dinner, how about Turkey Pot Pie, Leftover Casserole, Mashed Potato Cakes, Turkey Chili, Sliders or Pizza?
Give one of these recipes a try, and let us know how it goes!

After the events of 9/11, the owners of Porter’s Army Navy a family owned and operated store in Irving, TX, recognized that many of their customers were looking for a way to help, but didn’t know where to start. In response to this need, the Porter family started Unite for Troops, an annual event and Veteran’s Day celebration held to raise money and collect items for care packages to send to our troops overseas.
Alpha Testing’s Diana Rohrback, herself a veteran, organized Alpha’s contributions to this year’s event, which included donating food and personal care items for care packages as well as purchasing raffle tickets to help with some of the shipping costs for the care packages.
Unite for Troops sends the Alpha family a big THANK YOU for all of the donations!
