Church’s Chicken – “Chicken Caddy”
San Antonio – Texas Highway 16 is the longest road in Texas – that starts and ends within the State. Head out of San Antonio to the north and enjoy the scenery, and once you reach Bandera, if nothing else see the “Chicken Caddy”. You will not miss it. There is plenty to do in Bandera, but I recommend just riding (or drive if you must) north at least to Llano.
Along the way – Medina and parks along the Medina River; steep switchback roads on the way to Kerrville; find some great food and refreshment in Fredericksburg, see the Willow City Loop, a short detour to Enchanted Rock on FM 965, and on into Llano.
My guess is that you will return by the same route to San Antonio, and maybe stop to end the day at Floore’s Country Store in Helotes. You never know who might be playing that night.
Upgrade doesn’t even begin to describe the move Alpha’s Houston office is about to make. The new office construction is about to be underway, with completion scheduled for July of 2014. The facility is planned to be over 10,000 square feet, and we know the staff is pretty excited to spread out into the new space. Sweet dreams Houston, here is an outside look on the project site.
In addition to locally roasted and ground coffee, CJ’s Coffee Café has some serious food. Appropriate portions, well-seasoned, and just plain tasty eats. And some things will surprise you. Take the Turkey Sandwich. Far from ordinary, this baby features cream cheese instead of mayonnaise, sprouts and avocado.
A final teaser, they make an oatmeal cookie the size of Texas, and calmly refer to it as a ‘breakfast cookie”. Now that’s what I am talking about. Historic downtown Denison, known for its’ Main Street community, antique shops, and old country feel, is just the ticket to walk off that huge cookie.
