I want all Alpha to know that we tried something new this year in DFW. Typically, at year end, we buy and deliver client appreciation gifts for a significant number of people who entrust their engineering to the Alpha team. When we added up the number of clients who normally receive something from us at Christmas, we realized something – that the funding required for these gifts could instead make a huge difference in many lives.
Alpha donated all the funds that we have typically spent on Christmas cards and year end gifts to a local children’s charity, Jonathan’s Place. Jonathan’s Place houses 25 children in need due to abuse or neglect, and they have 50+ children in foster care for the same reasons.
We have sent letters to our clients letting them know that a) we did not forget them! and b) that we made this donation in their honor with the goal of significantly impacting young lives.
Rosie Harding – Dallas
Maxx Begole – Fort Worth
Travis Barrette – Houston
Every year, we like to recognize our employees from each office who demonstrate a commitment to service “The Alpha Way”. This year, five employees were recipients of the 2014 Founder’s Award, established to recognize those exhibiting superior service to both clients and our Alpha family.
Koda Shadix – Dallas
Announced at our Alpha Christmas parties, this year’s winners are Rosie Harding and Koda Shadix from our Dallas office, Maxx Begole from our Fort Worth office, Jason Montemayer from our San Antonio office, and Travis Barrette from our Houston office.
Jason Montemayor – San Antonio
Congratulations to you all and thank you for your exceptional service!
It’s that time of year again! Our tree is up and we are filling the space underneath it — and might need a couple more trees! In addition to collecting toys for donation, we are also hosting a food drive and raising funds for the North Texas Food Bank to help alleviate hunger in our state. Thank you to all the Alpha family and clients who are making our donations possible!
We welcome Mahsa Hedayati, PhD as the newest member of our Fort Worth office Engineering Team. Mahsa was born and raised in Northern Iran and earned her undergraduate and masters degree there. Two years later, she and her husband headed to the great state of Texas, where she continued her education at UTA, earning her PhD. Her research was on “distress generation in low volume pavement” (aka cracks in the road for you non-engineers). Outside of school and Alpha, Mahsa spends her time outdoors hiking, camping, and jet-skiing.
