Here’s some food for thought (literally!) for you Dallas folks looking for a place to build business relations AND satisfy an afternoon appetite. While lunch is a time to refuel, it can also double as a time to develop client relationships outside the office. If you are dining solo or with colleagues, these restaurants are swimming with business men and women. You can’t throw a spoon without hitting a networking opportunity, whether that be with a banker, broker, or developer. Try the Biznow recommendations:
3. R&D Kitchen
4. Capital Grille
5. Meddlesome Moth
Alpha is proud to be on the team for the development of The Gatehouse in Grapevine, TX, a living community for women and children who need a hand up, not a hand out. ProjectHandUp is an organization that provides families with a safe refuge and resources that promote independence. Programs include abuse counseling, classes for continuing education, job skill training, and community events. The 49-acre community includes living facilities for 96 families, a community center, two counseling centers, and a commercial building. Alpha is honored to work alongside Bennett Benner Pettit and Compass Realty on this inspiring project.
The 2015 Houston Rodeo is underway at the NRG Park. Twenty days of rodeo events, livestock shows, live music, dancing, and good food. The madness began on March 3rd and will continue until March 22. To kick things off, the rodeo hosts the World’s Championship BBQ Contest where hundreds of teams compete for bragging rights. This year, over 400 teams entered the cook-off, with enough BBQ to keep Cardiologists on speed dial. Alpha was a sponsor at the Stock & Stolon tent, who placed 31st overall in 2013. Larry Goodrich and Hunter were joined with several Alpha clients during the weekend festivities. While neither of our guys were actually wearing the chef hat, I’m sure they enjoyed tasting the competition!
Every year, Alpha hosts a Christmas party for staff and family to celebrate not only the holiday at hand, but also the successes of the year. Offices unite, Founder’s awards are bestowed, and food is consumed. However, last year’s 2014 Christmas Party took a slight detour from the usual agenda as the Alpha Warriors took the stage. Our very own Alpha Village People – Homebuilder Hillhouse, Policeman Powell, Cowboy Combs, Warrior Wilt, Officer Janish, and Sailor Stettner danced their way through the “YMCA”. We’ll let the quotes identify themselves…
“The strangest part was walking through the hotel in costume.”
“I always wanted to be a cop.”
“Not sure about those leather pants.”
“The headdress and all those feathers was the first hair on top of my head in years.”
What will happen at the next Alpha Christmas Party? The bar has been set and the challenge awaits – what Alpha group will step up in 2015?
