This week marks the centennial of the National Park Service, a government agency that has created or preserved over 400 parks/landmarks.. you name it. John Muir, President Theodore Roosevelt, and Stephen Mather are just a few of the visionaries who helped ignite the National Park Service (NPS) that we know today. In light of the big 100, here is the official full list of all National Parks across the United States and here is an article for off the grid spots – almost like finding a treasure within a treasure.
If you think the Rio Olympic events are impressive, the efforts at MobilePack events for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) might be a solid contender. The non-profit organization provides MannaPack meals to malnourished and starving children around the world. In order to create those MannaPacks, FMSC created MobilePack events, and the production is astounding. Alpha’s Jacob Wadlington was a part of the assembly line of volunteers on Friday at the “Turn Hunger into Hope” Dallas MobilePack. In just a single 2-hour shift, the team produced over 95,900 meals – helping FMSC reach their goal of 1 million for the weekend. That alone takes the gold medal. Want to volunteer your time at FMSC? Visit their website for upcoming MobilePack events in your area.
We’ve talked about Drive-Ins – but what about DIVE-Ins? Conquer the Texas heat while enjoying its beautiful scenery with these swimming hole spots from Texas Highways.
Here at Alpha Testing, we have staff with all kinds of talent and hobbies: equestrian western pleasure, hunting, motorcycles, photography and apparently some fish whisperers in the Dallas office! When Blas Loya isn’t catching phone calls in the Dallas Dispatch office, he is catching bass! In this year alone, Blas has competed in 3 co-angler tournaments through the Bass Fishing League (BFL) and KCKL Big Bass with his fishing partner Chris Eubanks, a technician at Alpha Testing. The pair are lined up to compete August 6th in a local tournament at Lake Bonham, one of Blas’s favorite fishing spots. Fish, ye be warned!
