Canstruction – Celebrating Our Past, Present, and Future

Alpha Testing, Inc.This weekend marks the start of the State Fair of Texas! While there is much anticipation for those Fletcher corn dogs, the Auto Show, pig races, and of course Big Tex himself, here at Alpha Testing, we are most excited about the Canstruction exhibit at the Science Place building. Alpha teamed with Archer Western, HNTB, and AGL Constructors to design and create a structure made entirely of canned goods. It took 13,800 cans and the effort of numerous volunteers to make the not-so-small replica of the Dallas Skyscrapers. Watch our project come to life in the time-lapse video and make sure to see it for yourself at the Fair!

Everyone CAN Help Solve Hunger – San Antonio

Canstruction 2016.jpgIt’s CANstruction time again! A time to help alleviate local hunger by putting your Design/Build skills to the ultimate test – making a structure out of canned goods. Alpha Testing sponsored the Muhammad Ali “Knocking Hunger UnCANscious” structure designed by Kimley-Horn and PBK Architects. It took 2,271 cans of beans to canstruct Mr. Ali, his opponent (Hunger), and the arena. The structures are currently being displayed around the North Star Mall in San Antonio and will be donated to the local food bank. Now it’s your turn to vote! Cast yours through the People’s Choice Award here and help Muhammad Ali knock out the competition!

1 ESA, 3 Copies

Alpha Testing, Inc.If you’ve ever wondered what three copies of a 1,800 page Phase I ESA report looks like, now you know! And we thought those geotechnical reports were lengthy! While most ESA reports fit into a mailbox, Diana Rohrback, Alpha Testing’s Environmental Department Administrative Assistant, will occasionally get a car-trunk-worthy report. Let’s just hope the door closes!

Back to School 2016

Back to SchoolThe summer is ending, schools are up and running again, and the much anticipated “first day of school” is behind us. It’s been a long standing tradition to capture those smiles, new clothes, and haircuts before the big day. Here’s a look at our Alpha Testing kiddos’ first day of school pictures. A big thanks to all who sent in photographs!
