Show and Tell

When a drill rig is scheduled to take borings at your school, why not turn it into a teaching opportunity for students? Grapevine-Colleyville ISD invited Alpha Testing’s Mahsa Hedayati, PhD, PE to speak to 5^th graders at Cannon Elementary about the current geotechnical drilling in the school’s backyard. With a hard hat on and a drill rig behind her, Mahsa got to “show and tell” regarding the drilling operation of an actual geotechnical project for school district. Before actual operations began, the students learned all about the process and equipment and got the chance to ask Mahsa questions. Future engineers? Who knows, but next time they see a drill rig, THEY will be answering the questions!
