There’s nothing quite like October baseball, and if you are a Houston Astros fan, you are probably pretty happy right now! The Astros swept the Cleveland Indians this week in the ALDS, advancing them to the ALCS.

Congratulations to Charlene Robles, Tirek Driver, and Hannah McAdams, the winners of our Where has your Alpha ‘A’ Been? contest! Here are Charlene (GoPro) and Tirek (Fuji underwater camera) with their prizes, and we can’t wait to see where Hannah flies off to with her Southwest Airlines gift card! Thank you to everyone who entered!
We’ll be posting Alpha “A” photos throughout the year, so keep sending them to Marianne at email@example.com.
In what has become an Alpha Testing tradition, here are some of the youngest (and not quite as young) members of the Alpha family on their first day of school. There are some on their first day of school ever, and others who are celebrating their last first day of school. Thanks for sending in all the great photos!
Our Houston team threw a Donuts and Diapers baby shower last week for two dads-to-be, Nathan Macicek and Joe Culley.
Right on cue, Miles Edward Macicek made his debut on Monday, May 21st. We’d like to think Miles wanted to make sure his dad could enjoy the party!
Congratulations to the Macicek and Culley families!

Ever wonder how handwritten field reports turn into typed masterpieces? Behind the scenes, Alpha’s typists convert those reports to legible, typed documents for project managers to review. In record-setting fashion, Alpha’s Tiana Blackmon typed her 10,000th report in January, completing the feat in less than 8 months! That’s about 60-70 reports a day!
Tiana joined Alpha in May 2017, and has a Master of Science degree in Agricultural and Natural Resources Science from Tarleton State University. She hopes to use her degree to pursue research and community research opportunities.
If typing was an Olympic sport, Tiana would definitely bring home the gold! We’re glad to have her on our team!
Blackmon with report #10,000!
Alpha celebrated Christmas in each of our service regions throughout December. As part of these celebrations, Alpha awarded our 2017 Founder’s Award to five very deserving members of the Alpha family. This award is given annually to members of our staff who exemplify the Mission and Vision of Alpha Testing.
Thank you to David Schledorn (Dallas), Amber Williams (Dallas), Mahsa Hedayati (Fort Worth), Sergio Quintero (Houston), and Colin Dlugosh (San Antonio) for being wonderful examples of the “Alpha Way!”
Check out our Facebook page for pictures of our staff celebrating the Christmas season!
