Alpha Testing’s Dallas office collected food for the North Texas Food Bank as part of their Thanksgiving celebrations this year. The items donated will feed over 120 families in our north Texas community. Thank you to all who donated, and to Karen Rodriguez, SHRM-CP for organizing the food drive!

After the events of 9/11, the owners of Porter’s Army Navy a family owned and operated store in Irving, TX, recognized that many of their customers were looking for a way to help, but didn’t know where to start. In response to this need, the Porter family started Unite for Troops, an annual event and Veteran’s Day celebration held to raise money and collect items for care packages to send to our troops overseas.
Alpha Testing’s Diana Rohrback, herself a veteran, organized Alpha’s contributions to this year’s event, which included donating food and personal care items for care packages as well as purchasing raffle tickets to help with some of the shipping costs for the care packages.
Unite for Troops sends the Alpha family a big THANK YOU for all of the donations!

A great restaurant with breakfast served all day is hard to come by. Crickles and Co., located in the heart of Oak Lawn, keeps their full menu available from open to close! This scratch kitchen uses seasonal ingredients to make delicious brunch and pastries. There are options for every kind of mood. If you are feeling healthy, the grilled veggie wrap and trainer’s omelette are great choices. If you want to soak up some carbs, the iron cake Belgian waffle or biscuit sandwich are the way to go.
Crickles is also well known for their bakery. They can make just about anything, and they even have GF options! Right now, we’d go with a slice of pumpkin cheesecake, and grab a few truffles to go.
For more information on their menu and catering options visit their website: http://cricklesandco.com/index.html

Treat yourself to a gelato cake or an affogato, which is espresso combined with a scoop of gelato. The flavors are mouthwatering including Belgian Chocolate, Mascarpone Cherry, Peanut Butter Crunch and Vanilla Rose. Pastries and smoothies are also on the menu. “Take a minute for yourself” as Epic Gelato would say and stop in for a treat!
