While Christmas trees and Santa Clause might come to mind when most people hear “It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” in north Texas it means visions of Fletcher’s corny dogs and the aroma of turkey legs. The State Fair of Texas has begun, and whether you go for the food or the festivities, the fair never disappoints.
To celebrate the first day of the fair, we’re bringing you a flashback Friday to last year’s fair, when our marketing team spent a day winning prizes, checking out the pumpkin carvers, and of course sampling the incredible fair food!
Check out our post about Alpha’s tie to Big Tex, and head to bigtex.com to plan your fair day now through October 20th!
If you’ve spent any time at our Dallas Royal Annex, then you’ve heard many a marketer or salesman talk about J’s Deli. You can’t beat the convenience (it’s only a 3 minute walk away), and their breakfast burritos are definitely a fan favorite!
If you’re looking to grab a quick lunch, their daily specials, not to mention their burgers and fries, always hit the spot. You might even find a group from the main office sitting on the patio on Friday afternoon after a busy week!
Where can you find sculptures of Captain Underpants, Spider-Man, and Dirk Nowitzki all in one place? At NorthPark Center in Dallas as part of the 2019 Canstruction competition!
Alpha’s Dallas office, represented by Hannah McAdams, Jordan Koskelin, and Marianne Stanton, teamed with Archer Western and Spencer+Company this year to create a 7-foot tall Captain Underpants out of canned potatoes, beans, tomatoes, tuna, and corn!
The cansculptures will be on exhibit at NorthPark through September 22nd, after which all of the canned food will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank.
For more information on Canstruction, and to donate/vote for our sculpture, head to https://canstructiondallas2019.causevox.com/.
Your social media feed undoubtedly has been flooded with this year’s back to school pictures, but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show off our Alpha family! Click through the slideshow to see our Alpha kiddos on their first days of school. With college football season just around the corner, we know that traffic heading north on I-35 is about to get even crazier than usual. If you need to grab a bite on your way to Norman or Stillwater, we suggest a stop at a legendary Gainesville spot. The Hungry Hippo Sub Shop is located just east of I-35, about an hour north of Dallas/Fort Worth. Voted “Cooke County’s Best Sub Shop,” they’ve been serving Gainesville’s best sandwiches since 1979. Thanks to Alpha’s Chris Pape for sending this photo from his recent visit!
