Golfing with Style?

Alpha’s Team at the 22nd Annual AIA Dallas | Acme Brick Golf Tournament was the four “J’s”: John Greenwald, Joshua Rogg, Jacob Wadlington, and Jeff Wilt.  The team expected to have a somewhat high score, and to celebrate that expectation, Team Captain Rogg elected to have a high thread count as well.

After the event, Rogg stated, “Well, we certainly were trophy bound, finishing last.  But let’s not forget we finished first in fashion!”  Maybe so, maybe not!

Click here for more information on the tournament, and thank you AIA Dallas and Acme Brick for an awesome afternoon!

Alpha celebrated Christmas in each of our service regions throughout December. As part of these celebrations, Alpha awarded our 2017 Founder’s Award to five very deserving members of the Alpha family. This award is given annually to members of our staff who exemplify the Mission and Vision of Alpha Testing.

Thank you to David Schledorn (Dallas), Amber Williams (Dallas), Mahsa Hedayati (Fort Worth), Sergio Quintero (Houston), and Colin Dlugosh (San Antonio) for being wonderful examples of the “Alpha Way!”

Check out our Facebook page for pictures of our staff celebrating the Christmas season!

Alpha TestingWhat happens when you put Alpha Testing engineering staff together in one room? You get soil PI contests, Top Golf, and a whole lot of engineering expertise exchanged. Alpha hosted a geotechnical conference for our engineering team in October, bringing staff from all four offices together. Here are some highlights from the weekend.

Fried Texas Dirt

Alpha TestingIt’s hard to believe the State Fair of Texas opens tomorrow. As the longest-running fair in the nation, the State Fair celebrates all things Texan from September 29 – October 22. There are so many activities and Fair traditions to look forward to. One that has continued to gain popularity is fried cuisine, which has become a staple.

Every year since 2005, The State Fair has hosted the Big Tex Awards for Fair food creations. Among the semi-finalists this year is Fried Texas Dirt. If it’s anything like the dirt Alpha analyzes in our laboratories, that Texas clay might be a little chewy. However, rumor has it that Oreo’s are the key ingredient instead, which sounds much more appetizing.
