Hannah’s Favorite Cafe

This recommendation comes from Alpha’s Hannah McAdams, a Cypress, TX native. Located in Hannah’s hometown, Hanan’s Café features a “chalkboard menu” meaning the options change daily. They use local ingredients to make healthy yet delicious meals for breakfast and lunch. Pair the banana French toast tower with a classic Americano or a Honey Bun Latte. The eggs benedict is amazing too!

Check out their website http://www.hananscafe.com/ for more information!

Do you have a favorite local spot you’d like featured on our blog? Let us know! Email Marianne or Hannah to give your favorite restaurant some love!

The Alpha team showed their Halloween spirit yesterday, and you can check out some pics from the offices on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages. Here are a few more photos of our Alpha family!

Let’s Go ‘Stros!

There’s nothing quite like October baseball, and if you are a Houston Astros fan, you are probably pretty happy right now! The Astros swept the Cleveland Indians this week in the ALDS, advancing them to the ALCS.

Catch the ‘Stros taking on the Boston Red Sox in the primetime slot at 7:09pm, Saturday, October 13th. Wear your Orange and Blue loud and proud this weekend and gather your friends and family to cheer them on all the way to the 2018 World Series! Visit https://www.mlb.com/ to catch up on all the latest baseball news, and check out a few pics of our staff from the Astros 2017 championship run below!

Back to School 2018

In what has become an Alpha Testing tradition, here are some of the youngest (and not quite as young) members of the Alpha family on their first day of school. There are some on their first day of school ever, and others who are celebrating their last first day of school. Thanks for sending in all the great photos!

Bump, Set, Spike!

Our Houston team checked out Wakefield Crowbar a few weeks ago for some fun in the sand! Located between the Garden Oaks and Oak Forest neighborhoods of Houston, this dog friendly eatery has full-sized volleyball courts as well as a large patio for those of us who lean more towards “spectator” than “setter.” To make your court reservation or sign up for one of their volleyball leagues, check out http://www.wakefieldcrowbar.com/!

Beat the Houston Heat!

Yes, the inevitable triple digit temperatures are finally upon us here in Texas, but that does not mean you cannot still have a cool time around H-town! There are plenty of things to do to “beat the Houston heat” that do not include burning a hole in your wallet.

This summer, several popular Houston museums are offering free admission every Thursday afternoon including: Museum of Natural Science, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Children’s Museum of Houston, The Health Museum, Houston Museum of African American Culture, and the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum.

Busy Thursdays? No worries. There are also plenty of museums that are free every day of the year including: Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, DiverseWorks, Houston Center for Photography, The Menil Collection, Moody Center for the Arts, and the Rothko Chapel to name a few.

So if you want to mix it up a little bit without breaking a sweat or the bank, stop by one of these fine Houston attractions with some friends, family, or just the kiddos. School may have stopped, but the learning never has to! Check out http://houmuse.org/free-admission-times/ for details.
