Our Houston team checked out Wakefield Crowbar a few weeks ago for some fun in the sand! Located between the Garden Oaks and Oak Forest neighborhoods of Houston, this dog friendly eatery has full-sized volleyball courts as well as a large patio for those of us who lean more towards “spectator” than “setter.” To make your court reservation or sign up for one of their volleyball leagues, check out http://www.wakefieldcrowbar.com/!
KnockerBall®, or “bubble soccer,” is trending all over the United States, and the Alpha team in Dallas decided to see what the hype was all about.
Protect the Chief, soccer, bowling, relays, and sharks and minnows were just a few of the games played. It was a great team bonding experience!

Team Alpha braved the elements last Saturday for the Form Follows Fitness 5K, benefiting the Dallas Center for Architecture! Even with the less than ideal conditions, it was a great event, with a course that took us past some of the best architecture in Dallas. Thanks to everyone who came by our booth (manned by Jacob Wadlington), and congrats to Junior Hernandez, Hannah McAdams, Allison Merecka, and Marianne Stanton for battling through the rain to get those awesome medals! Want to see more pics from the race? Check out https://www.facebook.com/FormFollowsFitness/. Can’t wait to do it again next year!
Alpha Testing did things a little differently this round at the Form Follows Fitness 5K at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas. This year, we sponsored our first booth! Our table was filled with all sorts of goodies – granola bars, stickers, koozies, and, of course, a giant bowl of candy – the perfect post workout fuel! In addition to the table treats, Alpha also raffled out Yeti Tumblers to booth visitors. We couldn’t have asked for better race weather and to top it all off, the sun came out post-race to warm up the morning. Thanks to all the Alpha family and friends who woke up early on a Saturday morning to support Alpha and a big thank you to our lone star runner for Team Alpha, Junior Hernandez! Looking forward to next year!
Here’s a little inspiration for your New Year’s Resolution. On Dec 12, 2015, Alpha’s Diana Rohrback made the courageous decision to make a lifestyle change to improve her health and lessen the symptoms of Type II Diabetes. She enrolled in a weight loss program, changed her diet, and incorporated exercise into her routine. To date, Diana has lost an astounding 66.5 pounds (and counting)! What’s her secret? She says that the key to success is setting a goal, creating a tangible for you to reach. Congratulations Diana! Your story is an inspiration.
It’s that time of year again for the Form Follows Fitness 5K. Alpha is forming a team and paying ALL registration fees and providing t-shirts for those of the Alpha family who want to join us Saturday, February 20, 2016. So bring your family, and yes, even those four legged friends to Klyde Warren Park in Dallas to run/walk the loop in support of DCFA. (P.S. dogs don’t get t-shirts…)
Free food and drinks will also be available at the race site. Register online at the DCFA website and join our Alpha Testing team. Packet Pick Up starts at 7:30 am and the race begins at 8:30! Hope to see you there!
Thanks to all who braved the cold with us in February at the Form Follows Fitness 5K, benefitting the DCFA. To spice things up this year, Alpha offered Nike gift cards to the fastest male and female runner (or walker) in each age group. Congratulations to all 13 winners – enjoy your Nike cash (better late than never, eh Jeff ?!). Join us for the FFF 5K race at Klyde Warren Park next year! Jeff promises prizes MUCH sooner next round!
