Alpha Testing Dallas once again teamed up with Archer Western and HNTB for the CANstruction Dallas competition.
“Our companies are working toward advances in transportation, including the highways, rail, airports, and BEYOND! Our structure is a depiction of the next era of space travel, leaving the balmy waves of Florida and looking toward Mars. While we work toward making your commutes better now and plan for the commutes of the future, one thing we CAN all work on is to eradicate hunger in our community. Let’s work together to rid Dallas of hunger today.” https://canstructiondallas2018.causevox.com/team/blastingouthunger
The entries are on display at NorthPark Center in Dallas until September 22nd, so make sure you check it out! Many thanks to all who participated, especially Jordan Koskelin and Hannah McAdams who represented Alpha on build day!
Alpha’s President, Brian Powell and Chairman, Jim Hillhouse “took aim at hunger” on April 27 at the Christian Community Action (CCA) Sporting Clay Shoot. Alberto Flores and Jacob Wadlington also joined the group as volunteers for the day. Alpha was a sponsor for the event which included 13 stations, a raffle, and BBQ for fuel. The clay shoot raised funds to benefit CCA’s mission to alleviate suffering, bring hope, and change lives. CCA has served the DFW area for over 43 years, providing food and crisis management and relief services. To volunteer, donate, or learn more about this nonprofit organization, visit their website.
Alpha Testing was a bronze sponsor at the Hidden Figures of Dallas Scholarship Fundraiser Gala on Saturday, March 25. The NSBE-DFW hosted the gala to raise scholarship funds for women in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex pursuing STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Inspired by the book and film, Hidden Figures, the evening included honoring the scholarship recipients, dinner with keynote speaker Congresswomen Eddie B. Johnson, a silent auction, and raffle prizes.
Alpha’s Altagracia (Gracie) Cesaire helped make the event possible, serving as Pre-College Initiative Chair for NSBE-DFW Professionals. Her service included implementing different events for students, partnering with Dallas ISD, Girl Scouts, and YMCA, to bring STEM activities to minority and at-risk students.
Gracie was accompanied by Alpha’s Tony Janish, David Schledorn, and Harsha Addula. Props to Gracie for getting three of Alpha’s engineers in a suit and tie!
NSBE-DFW will be partnering with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to premiere ASCE’s new movie “Dream Big” on June 3, 2017. Please contact Gracie Cesaire at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to purchase tickets.
Hunt Construction Group hosted their annual tournament on June 5, 2014, raising $53,000.00 to benefit the Assistance League of Greater Collin County. Alpha was a sponsor of the event, and our Max McGough (Business development – Dallas) drew the lucky straw and played for Alpha.
Our team placed third at 13 under par. Max, however, had both longest drive and closest to the pin for the tournament. And he won the large YETI cooler in the raffle. Maxing out, indeed!
